Ahhs: Bunny Bowl for Easter

i should start a "what i'm buying now" section...since i end up buying a lot of what i post. this little bunny bowl and mug set are perfect for easter. i've been making "coffee" in the morning for henry, which is hot cocoa with foamed milk on top, so i've been looking at lots of mugs. might order this one once it's back in stock!

Books to Coo About: This Is Your Book {Baby Book}

i've always loved the idea of a baby book but in reality who has the time? now you do thanks to this beautifully designed book by ryan machonochie. this is your book is so simple that you could fill it in between baby's feedings in the first month.  maconochie takes a clean modern approach to the baby book, he stayed away from cheesy illustrations or overly cutesie activities. a truly beautiful keepsake geared to the way we live and think today.

Ahhs: Searching for Baby

wow it's feeling awfully girlie over here at coos & ahhs. is everyone okay? :) i am actually on the hunt for a baby doll for mr. henry. i figured it would be good for him to get prepared for the new arrival and he loooves babies.
of course i am being neurotic and trying to find the perfect baby doll for him. so many of them are a bit scary or way too girlie. you wouldn't know it by looking at my son but my husband is latino, so not super caucasian would be nice too (although number three is pretty darn white). i am in love with the petitcollin dolls, but they are a bit expensive. then again if you spend $50 what's another $10-20? i think i am going to be reasonable (for once) and get the corolle babipouce (center). let me know if you have any other baby dolls suggestions!

Fashion Coos: Monamici {Spring Preview}

i'm not super familiar with the swedish kids label monamici. they only us retailer i know is sweet william and they usually only carry a few pieces. but the spring range looks like the exact thing i want to dress baby in: bloomers. check. cotton prints. check. bubbly dresses and tops. check.

Ahhs: Feeding Baby Organic

if you are anything like me, you want to raise a child with healthy eating habits and an adventurous palate, but for some moms introducing solid foods can be daunting.

i made all henry's food when he was a baby. (before you start rolling your eyes, please know i am pretty freaking lazy.) all i would do is spend a couple of hours (like no more than two) making purees for the week and freeze them. it was so easy and satisfying. the only problem was i'd get stuck in the rut of sweet potatoes and pears after awhile. so having a good cookbook at your side is essential.

the new cookbook 201 organic baby purees by tamika l. gardner (founder of simplybabyfoodrecipes.net) is a trove of inspiring recipes for baby for the first year and beyond. the book is full of helpful tips and has a handy guide to the most pesticide laden fruits and vegetables, not to mention endless (okay, 201) recipes that are good enough to make you drool.

now i will step off my homemade food high horse and say that organic squeezy packs (as i like to call them) are lifesavers in the city, traveling, or those nights when your toddler refuses dinner and you are just too tired to make anything else. mamas you hear me--right?

there are lots of great organic products on the market right now, but i doubt any of them taste as good as baby gourmet...at least their tropical banana bliss flavor-- the name says it all. i received a sample of some of the flavors and my son and i were fighting over them. no joke! he won of course.

all baby gourmet products are organic, salt and sugar free, and no fillers or preservatives. the angle is baby gourmet has some seriously creative recipes like harvest pear, pumpkin, and banana; juicy pear and garden greens; old fashioned apple crisp; and vanilla banana berry risotto. yum! available at stores nationwide.
